WHY THIS CONFERENCE IS A MUST-ATTEND EVENT:"Development of the continental shelf is one of Russia’s main strategic priorities for the production of energy resources. At the same time, we are all aware that such production, despite the obvious economic gains, always carries with it considerable risks and threats to the environment. Ignoring them could bring about catastrophic ecological consequences, and enormous losses for the companies who cause them. New regulative measures have been drafted, which provide legislative support to effective mechanisms for solving this problem. It goes without saying that this is an additional burden on oil & gas companies, but it is the only way that we can ensure safe and effective exploitation of our national resources today, tomorrow and in years to come." - Evgeny Tugolukov, Chairman, Committee for Natural Resources & the Environment, State Duma of the Russian Federation
